Celem nagrody jest docenienie twórców i twórczyń filmowych wprowadzających zrównoważone i przyjazne dla środowiska praktyki zgodne z ideą manifestu „Porozumienie na rzecz zrównoważonej produkcji audiowizualnej – Film dla klimatu” i promowane przez Komisję Europejską i Inicjatywę „Film Dla Klimatu”.
Nagroda jest przyznana w dwóch kategoriach: Film pełnometrażowy i Film krótkometrażowy. Zwycięzcy w każdej kategorii otrzymają statuetki, nagrody finansowe w wysokości 15 000 zł i zaproszenie do udziału w wizycie studyjnej organizowanej przez Komisję Europejską.
